SOOP Credits and Licenses
There are several external pieces of code incorporated into SOOP's code. Some of them have Limits to the way they could be used. We want to make sure that everyone understand these limitations as well the conditions under which they could be used.
  1. Web Wiz Forum: This forum is used with SOOP. The documentation of the license / terms and conditions are all included within the SOOP directory structure. Please read them, and make sure you comply with the agreement. If you want to remove the WWF copyright info from the bottom of the page, you have to buy a license from their website.

  2. Milonic Menu: License No is: 191559. Milonic system is used to display the horizontal menu of SOOP. This license was contributed to us (thanks to Milonic) and has to be used under these Terms and Conditions:

    • You may not extract this menu from SOOP's code and use it in any shape or form.
    • You may not redistribute this menu with any application or addon that you create for SOOP.
    • You may not use this menu with your SOOP portal if your portal is commercially based or it is used in a commercial environment.

If you want to use the Menu and not comply with these conditions, you can buy a license from Milonic's Web site.

  3. FCKedior: This is the html editor used within SOOP's code. This editor is released and Licensed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public. There are no limitation or conditions other then what is listed in the GNU. If you want to to learn more about FCKeditor you can visit Frederico's web site the creator of its code.

  4. Visubox: is the small flash applet used for chatting. You can use this in any way you want as long as you comply with the terms they outlined. These terms are included as a text file, please read them and make sure you comply with them. If you want to know more about Visubox please visit their web site.

  5. Others: SOOP's File manager and some of the array manipulation subroutines were written by aspemporium.com These routines in some cases were heavily modified to fit our requirements and we just want to make sure the authors get the proper recognition for their original code. These routines could be used in any way, as long as the author's credit is mentioned somewhere in the code. You can visit aspemporium.com and have a look around. The author have written some real nifty routines and it is a great learning site.

  6. SOOP Skin's: I want to make sure these users get the proper recognition as without them SOOP would not have the same visual representation as it does now. The skin development team have come up with some really great themes and should be commended. If you want to know more about these users, you can do so from the staff page, and our skin development area. We do not require you to display credits for these users when you use their skins, but we would appreciate it if you somewhere on your site, display some credit for the work they have done.

  7. SOOP Language Translators: Thanks for the hard work of these users, SOOP is available in a lot different languages and is being used in a lot of different countries. Currently there is no requirement that you display credits for them, unless the author of the language files states so. If they do, we would appreciate that you comply with their requests.

  8. SOOP third party Addons: If you download any of these addon's and use them with SOOP you have to comply with their terms and always give credit where credit is due.
Country info included with SOOP is based on CyrussX original country addon. CyrussX has done a number of addons to be used with SOOP. You can visit his website and have a look.

  9. SOOP: SOOP is an open source application, and you can use it in any format you wish as long as you comply with the above and the open source license. You may not sell, resell this application without getting permission from SOOP. Please read our license terms included with the source code.
We hope that everyone will comply with what have been referenced above. We would like to thank everyone for their ideas and contributions and we hope that you find good use of this application and we will try our best to keep improving it in the future.
