"Release Candidate"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Rel ease_candidate
Quote: Release candidate The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization (read QA cycle), all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more Beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug.

Also - is there a conversion tool from Raven to Phoenix RC yet? I REALLY want to test this against a *copy* of the drumrock database so I can't start figuring out what it'll take to run it....
Thanks for the huge amount of effort and work on this....nice to see it getting closer!

Same question: Is there such a conversion tool for Raven databases? I'd also like to test the Phoenix RC, but doing it from scratch with dummy data would be pretty useless... and I don't want to waste time doing useless things.
I'd like to test it with real data although, of course, not on a production environment.

i made a convertion tool but it is tricky to setup
if you contact me via PM i can do the conversion for you and give you a backup in whatever format you want of your changed data for phoenix - just allow 24 hours delay

lupo - you offered this before and that's great - however there is still an installed base of folks out here that would want to test this on their own and/or (please don't take offense) don't want to just hand their data off to someone who they only know as an admin on the Soop site. There should be a packaged tool with, at the minimum, the released version of Soop ready to go, otherwise Phoenix isn't usable for me.
I'm not a dev, and I'm not trying being critical about it, these guys do a fantastic job, it just seems to me that a way to UPGRADE should have been a thought here...it probably was/is, but the only way they're going to get feedback on doing it is if they provide a tool to do it to us.

RC1.1 will be available in the next few days, were just finalizing the RC1.1 patch and re-running all the patch update/install scripts to make sure that there are no errors,
If RC1.1 is as stable as we hope it will be then I see no reason to hold off any longer on the upgrade tool, I'm pretty sure that we have now finalized that database structure so cant see that there will be any more additional tables except maybe the Calendar events table which is not yet complete, these will be added once we know the release is stable,

I see from your personal site that your not Cziv, but to be honest, it wouldn't bother me personally if nobody used it at all, I write code for Soop for the love of the project and what the project originally stood for and lets face it, it is still a free software so that by it's nature will attract new users as well as the existing users that we have,
So i say to those that are still awaiting the next release, I personally thank you for your continued support and dedication to this project,
And to those that couldn't wait any longer, I wish you well in whatever path you chose for your CMS/Website system,

Good reply, ph4nt0m...
There is a 'Silent Majority' of us who have been waiting very patiently for the stable version. Many check this website on a daily basis to follow the progress of Phoenix. As we read the posts we can feel the enthusiasm you, Qmax, and the others have and ignore the whines of those who are inpatient.
We know what Soop has been... currently is.. and what can be expected for the future and appreciate all the efforts you and the others have put into it.
